City of Waltham is located 9 mi W of Boston; Middlesex County (US-T121).
Historical Context
Settled in 1634, incorporated as a town in 1738, as a city in 1884. Probably named for Waltham Abbey, Essex County, England, from which came the Reverend John Eliot and other settlers of the region (MA-T1/p47).
