Studied religion and economics at the University of Tehran, Iran, Recived a PhD from the Sorbonne.
Occupation
Elected on January 25, 1980, as the first President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and would later be impeached in 1981. He was appointed by Ayatollah Ruhollan Khomeini as the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council which was the governing body responsible for making policy decisions.

In Louisa Kennedy's journals his name is often written as B.S., B. Sadr, Sadr.
