Town of Sturbridge is located on the CT-MA boundary, 20 mi SW of Worcester; Worcester County (US-T121).
It was settled about 1729 and incorporated as a town in 1738. Named for Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England. Before 1738, it was common land called New Medfield (MA-T1/p44).
