Town of Danvers is located 4 mi NW of Salem; Essex County (US-T121).

Historical Context
Settled 1636 and incorporated as a town in 1757. Probably named at the suggestion of Lieutenant Governor of NY in 1753. It is stated, however, that this portion of Salem was called Danvers as early as 1745 (MA-T1).
